The J.P. Eggbutt snaffle is a nice bit for horses with a fairly large tongue or small mouth, being curved in the mouthpiece and not too thick in the bars. The french link helps to stop bit from hitting the roof of the mouth.. The eggbutt cheek on the JP jointed snaffle helps to reduce the vibrations felt by the horse down the reins from the rider, making it a suitable bit for a novice rider to use.
