The mouthpiece is 11mm thick which creates a light and slender mouthpiece to compliment the conformation of the horses mouth. Both branches of the mouth piece are curved forward to follow the line of the tongue. The lozenge is the same diameter as the mouthpiece creating an even wrap-around inside the mouth. The advantage to a loose ring is that because the mouthpiece runs loose on the cheek the horse can move the bit pressure off the tongue more easily and the signals that the rider gives have a slight delay before the mouthpiece activates.
